On the Participation of the Republic of Belarus in the Session of the Foreign Ministers Council, Ministers of Defense Council, Committee of the Secretaries of Security Council of the CSTO

On December 19, 2012 the Belarus delegation took part in the joint session of the Foreign Ministers Council, Ministers of Defense Council and Committee of the Secretaries of Security Council of the CSTO in Moscow.
 
 
 
 
Mr.Leonid Maltsev, Secretary of State of the Security Council, Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Mr.Uriy Zhadobin, Minister of Defense, and Igor Petrishenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Representative of the Republic of Belarus in the Collective Security Treaty Organization took part in the session.
 
 
 
 
The parties discussed a number of draft resolutions concerning the development of the Organization in the military sphere until 2020, emergency response system, collective measures on struggling against threats coming from Afghanistan, and challenges that arise after Uzbekistan suspended it’s membership in the CSTO.
 
The participants of the session analyzed the functioning of the CSTO during Kazakhstan chairmanship in the Organization in 2012.
 
Kyrgystan informed the CSTO partners on its national priorities during the chairmanship in the Organization in 2013.
 
Foreign Ministers considered and approved resolutions on coordination of the CSTO member-states foreign policy in the framework of the Organization, prepared on the initiative of Belarus and Russia.
 
Ministers of defense passed some resolutions on the development of the Organization in the military sphere and staff training, and adopted working plan of the Ministers of Defense Council for 2013.
