On the Meeting of Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, with Mr.Yuri Fedotov, UN Under-Secretary-General, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

On May 30, 2013 Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, held a meeting with Mr.Yuri Fedotov, UN Under-Secretary-General, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

During the meeting the parties marked the high level of interaction between Belarus and UN System. Mr.Vladimir Makei expressed interest in getting advanced international experience and technical assistance to ensure higher efficiency of state activity in struggling against crimes with the help of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

Mr.Yuri Fedotov conveyed highest appreciation of Belarus’ efforts on the international arena in the sphere of combating against trafficking in persons on behalf of UN Secretary General Mr.Ban Ki-moon.
Mr.Vladimir Makei and Mr.Yuri Fedotov discussed the prospects of the Belarus-UNODC cooperation development, including by means of implementing specific projects. The parties marked the importance of granting the status of the UN certified training center to the International Training Center on Migration and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Belarus.
