On the Participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Valentin Rybakov in the Session of the UN Commission for Social Development

On February 10 – 14, 2014 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Valentin Rybakov is on a visit to New York to participate in the 52nd session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development.

On February 11 during the high level discussion Mr.Valentin Rybakov stated that current investments of the Belarusian State in education, health care, professional training and creation of new opportunities for full employment and decent work for all will bring significant social and economic results in future.
 
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs urged the UN system to support more actively Member States in developing their national programs to eradicate social inequality and ensure empowerment of people.

The representative of Belarus noted that the issues of practical support of youth, the elderly and disabled, people living in poverty, as well as the strengthening of such an important social institution as the family should be given adequate attention in the process of preparing the UN development agenda beyond 2015.

During this event Mr V.Rybakov had a short working meeting with the Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Wu Hongbo.
