Joint statement of the presidents of the Republic of Belarus and Russian Federation

Acting in the spirit of the common approaches, coordinated by the Republic of Belarus and Russian Federation, and taking into regard repeated statements of the USA and the European Union on the possibility of introducing economic restrictions against the Republic of Belarus, the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and of the Russian Federation confirm that economic pressure or coercion is unacceptable in relations between the states.

Such measures create artificial barriers in trade, unjustified obstacles to economic cooperation between business entities, infringe on legitimate interests of economic security of the states, threatening the productive, mutually beneficial cooperation and expansion of integration processes on the Eurasian continent. This will have a negative impact on ordinary people, first of all.

The Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and of the Russian Federation are strongly convinced that only a dialog based on equality and respect will help to resolve international disputes. The Presidents condemn any actions impeding such a dialog.
