On the Meeting of Mr.Igor Petrishenko, Ambassador of Belarus to the Russian Federation with Ms. Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Russian Federation Council

On January 15, 2013 Mr.Igor Petrishenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Russian Federation, met with Ms.Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Russian Federation Council and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Members.


The parties highly assessed the development of Belarus-Russia relations, success achieved in providing equal rights to the citizens of Belarus and Russia and the development of joint projects in energy engineering and some other spheres, investment cooperation.


During the meeting the sides discussed the prospects of interregional cooperation and parliamentary contacts between the two countries.


Some aspects of humanitarian cooperation were also considered.


Mr.Igor Petrishenko informed the Russian side about Belarus initiatives on the development of the Commonwealth of Independent States in view of Belarus Chairmanship in the CIS in 2013.
