Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov to partake in the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Member States of the Non–Aligned Movement

On October 15–16, 2025 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov will take part in the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Member States of the Non-Aligned Movement, which will be held in Kampala (Republic of Uganda). 

For reference: The Non-Aligned Movement was established in 1961 to protect the interests of developing countries. The Republic of Belarus has been a member of the NAM since 1998. Currently, the Movement unites 121 member states, 18 observer States, as well as 10 observer international organizations, including the United Nations. The NAM bases its work on the Bandung principles, among which are respect for sovereignty, non-use of force and non-interference in the internal affairs of States, as well as ensuring the right of countries to independently determine their political, economic, social and cultural system. 

Belarus will serve as the Vice-Chairman of the NAM from the European regional group. 

The Minister will take part in a plenary discussion on "Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence". Maxim Ryzhenkov's speech will outline the approaches of the Republic of Belarus to strengthening the role of the Non-Aligned Movement in building a just and sustainable world order, consolidating the positions of the member countries on key international issues, increasing the economic potential of the NAM states and developing long-term mutually beneficial cooperation. Special attention will be paid to issues of sustainable development, innovative economic cooperation and strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian field. 

The Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of the NAM member states.
