On the Visit of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Valentin Rybakov, to Myanmar

On October 31 – November 1, 2013 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Mr.Valentin Rybakov visited Myanmar.

On November 1, 2013 the first session of Belarus-Myanmar Committee for trade and economic cooperation took place in Naypyidaw. The Committee was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Valentin Rybakov and the Deputy Minister of National Planning and Economic Development of Myanmar.

During the session the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached within the visit of Mr.Mikhail Myasnikovich, Prime-Minister of Belarus, to Myanmar in December 2011, marked the directions for cooperation.

Within the session of the Committee the sides signed the Memorandum of understanding and cooperation in healthcare between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and Ministry of Health of Myanmar.

Later on the same day Belarus-Myanmar consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs took place. The Belarusian part was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Valentin Rybakov, the Myanmar – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar.

Within the negotiations, the parties discussed Belarus-Myanmar interaction in different spheres. The sides marked the necessity to continue the practice of visits exchange at different levels, to develop the legal framework and expand the volume of trade between the two countries.

The parties agreed to further develop cooperation between Belarus and Myanmar in the international organizations, including mutual support in the UN.

During the visit Mr.Valentin Rybakov met with the Minister of the National Planning and Economic Development of Myanmar Mr.Kan Zaw. The parties exchanged information on socio-economic development of Belarus and Myanmar. Myanmar Minister expressed satisfaction with the visit of the Belarusian delegation and the first session of Belarus-Myanmar Joint Committee on Trade and Economic cooperation.
