Ambassador of Belarus M.Kasko meets Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka

On February 3, 2026 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of India and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (concurrently), Mikhail Kasko, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism of Sri Lanka, Vijitha Herath.

The interlocutors discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda, including cooperation in the field of education, the organization of regular flights, and the possible introduction of a visa-free regime for Belarusian citizens.

The meeting also addressed matters concerning the planned visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Belarus.

On the same day, the Ambassador of Belarus held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka, Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku.

The parties noted the importance of the early signing of the Air Services Agreement between Belarus and Sri Lanka, which will enable the establishment of direct regular air communication between the two countries.
