The General Assembly of the International Electrotechnical Commission Meeting is held in Oslo

On October 1-5, 2012 the Belarusian delegation headed by Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization Viktor Nazarenko takes part in the General Assembly of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in Oslo (Norway).
 
The main attention of GA participants is focuses on elaborating the norms and standards of electrical, electronic and related technologies. The participants will elect officers of the Commission, consider the budget for the forthcoming fiscal period.
 
It is supposed that Belarus will become the host country for the IEC General Assembly in 2015.
 
Reference: International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a non-for-profit organization that prepares and publishes international standards for electrical, electronic and related technologies. The organization is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
 
The General Assembly of the IEC (IEC GA) is the supreme body of the organization.
 
States are represented in the IEC through its national services for standardization. The Republic of Belarus is a full-fledged member of the IEC since 1993.
