Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Turkey to Take Place in Ankara

On May 29, 2012 Ankara will host political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Turkey at the level of Deputy Ministers.

Belarusian delegation on the consultations will be headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Alena Kupchyna, the Turkish side will be led by the Deputy Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Fatih Ceylan.

The agenda of the consultations includes the issues of bilateral cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian fields. The sides will also exchange opinions on interaction within international organizations, on acute regional and international issues.

Note: In 2011 bilateral trade between Belarus and Turkey made US$447.7 million (122,9 percent to year 2010). Belarusian exports increased to US$129 million (123.1 percent), imports grew to $318.7 million (122.8 percent). The balance of trade is negative for Belarus at $189.7 million).

In January-March of 2012 bilateral trade between Belarus and Turkey made US$111. million (117,9 percent to the same period of 2010). Belarusian exports increased to US$39.5 million (182.7 percent), imports were $71.9 million (98.7 percent). The balance of trade is negative for Belarus at $32.4 million).
