On the Visit of Ms.Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, to Krakow

On May 17, 2013 Ms.Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, took part in the ministerial meeting of the Vysegrad Group and the Eastern Partnership which was held in Krakow. Ms.Kupchyna made a statement at the plenary session and participated in the discussion on the preparation for the EaP summit scheduled for November 2013 in Vilnius, as well as the ways of the EaP development after the summit. 
 
Head of the Belarusian delegation expressed the interest of Belarus in developing the pragratic cooperation within the EaP, and stressed the importance of following the fundamental principles of the Partnership, such as joint responsibility, equality and non-discriminaton among its participants. Belarus proposed to adopt a list of EaP strategic projects at the Vilnius summit, and underlined the need to draft as soon as possible the final declaration of the Summit with participation of all the partners. She also stressed the importance of strengthening the business dimension of the Eastern Partnership, and arranging the second meeting of the EaP Business Forum prior to the summit.
 
Ms.Alena Kupchyna met with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Georgia, and Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Mr.Štefan Füle. The meetings focused on further development of the cooperation within the Eastern Partnership and between Belarus and the EU.
