10th meeting of the Business Council of the Republic of Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of the Russian Federation to be Held on March 13-14

On March, 13-14 the Belarusian delegation headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Semashko will visit Nizhny Novgorod to participate in the 10th meeting the Business Council of the Republic of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod oblast.

Business matchmaking session is scheduled within the framework of the meeting, as well as meetings between the members of the Belarusian delegation and their Russian counterparts.

As a result of the visit the sides will sign the Minutes of the 10th meeting of the Business Council of the Republic of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod oblast and the Action Plan for 2012 on implementation of the Cooperation Development Program between the Republic of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod oblast of the Russian Federation for 2012-2015.

During the visit to Nizhny Novgorod Vladimir Semashko will meet the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod oblast Valeriy Shanzev and a special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, Mikhail Babich.

Note: In 2011 the foreign trade in goods between the Republic of Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod oblast amounted to US$ 678.2 million, a 29.8 percent increase compared to 2010. Belarusian exports totaled US$ 363.7 million (increased by 29.0 percent) and imports made US$ 314.5 million (increased by 30.9 percent).The positive balance amounted to US$ 49.2 million.

Major Belarusian export items to the Nizhny Novgorod oblast are internal combustion engines, tires and tire casings, cheese and cottage cheese, motor vehicles parts and accessories, sugar, meat and poultry by-products, auto trucks.

Main imports from the Nizhny Novgorod oblast to the Republic of Belarus are represented by oil products, acyclic alcohol, auto trucks, ferrous items, parts and accessories for automobiles and tractors.
