Belarus to Participate in the Alliance of Civilizations Partners Forum

From May 31 to June 1, 2012 Istanbul (Turkey) will host the Partners Forum for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.

The head of the Department of International Organizations of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, Belarusian National Coordinator of the Alliance of Civilizations, Yuri Ambrazevich will take part in this event.

The Belarusian diplomat will inform the participants of the event on the measures adopted at the national level to support religious, cultural, ethnic and linguistic stability in the country.

The Partners Forum is organized on the initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General's High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, Jorge Sampaio and will be dedicated to the discussion of the current state and the prospect activities of the Alliance.

During this event the participants will review in detail the most promising avenues of the international cooperation in the Alliance's spheres of competence, including the counteraction to all forms of discrimination in the spheres of the youth policies, education, mass media, and migration.

A special meeting for voluntary contributions for the Alliance program activities will take place during the Forum. Belarusian delegation intends to announce a decision to make a voluntary contribution of US$ 20 thousand.
