Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey visits Belarus

On November, 2-3 the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Co-chair of the Belarus — Turkey Joint Intergovernmental Economic Commission and of the Mixed Belarus — Turkey Commission for Tourism  Ertuğrul Günay is paying a visit to Belarus.

On November, 2 the regular session of the Belarus – Turkey Business Cooperation Council (organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey), and the meeting of the Head of the Turkish Delegation with the Belarusian Minister of Culture Pavel Latushko took place.

Today the Belarusian Foreign Ministry is hosting the seventh session of the Joint Intergovernmental Economic Commission.

The Belarusian delegation is headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Martynov.

According to the agenda of the session the parties will consider the issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation, the interaction in the sphere of industrial cooperation, transport, agriculture, energy, tourism, and elaboration of the legal framework.

At the end of discussions the parties expect to sign a protocol to fix all the agreements reached in the spheres of cooperation.

The third session of the Belarusian-Turkish Commission for Tourism is scheduled as well.

Note: In 2010 the foreign trade between Belarus and Turkey was US$ 362.8 million (136 per cent growth), Belarusian export reached US$ 104.8 million (132.6 per cent growth), import from Turkey — US$ 257.9 million (137.5 per cent growth), the balance of trade was negative (US$-153,1 million).

In January – September 2011 the foreign trade between Belarus and Turkey was US$ 308.4 million (120.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2010), Belarusian export – US$ 80.4 million (94.1 per cent), import from Turkey – US$ 228 million (134.0 per cent).
