On the Ceremony of the First Border Sign Installation at the Belarusian-Ukrainian State Border

On November 13, 2013 the ceremony of the installation of the first border sign at the Belarusian-Ukrainian state border took place near the junction of the state borders of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, the Friendship Mound (the Homiel Region, the Dobrush District).

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mr.Leonid Kozhara, as well as heads of border services and administrations of the near-border regions of the two countries.

As part of the event, a capsule was laid containing a memo on the occasion of the installation of the first border sign at the state border of Belarus and Ukraine.


Within the event Mr.Vladimir Makei held negotiations with his Ukrainian colleague. During the negotiations the sides discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation.
