On the Session of the Joint Belarusian-Qatari Committee on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation

On November 5-6, 2012 the 2^nd session of the Belarusian-Qatari Committee on economic, trade and technical cooperation took place in Minsk with Mr.Valentin Chekanov, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Belarus, chairing the Belarusian part of the Committee and Sultan Rashid Al-Khater, Deputy Minister of Business and Trade of Qatar, chairing the Qatari side.

On November 6, 2012 the parties signed the Protocol as a result of the agreements reached in the course of the session.

The Qatari side confirmed its interest in considering a number of investment projects presented by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Energy, Municipal Executive Committee of Minsk.

Belarus and Qatar are going to hold negotiations to launch direct flights between Minsk and Doha in 2013.

During the session Belarus and Qatar discussed Memorandum of Cooperation in healthcare and draft agreement on cooperation in financial sector.

The parties agreed to hold the 2^nd session of the Joint Business Council of the Chambers of Trade and Industry of Belarus and Qatar in 2013.
