On Working Trip of Elena Kupchina to Germany

On October 18 – 20, 2012 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Elena Kupchina is going on working trip to Germany in order to take part in the International partner conference “Join Efforts to Support Sustainable Development in Europe”.

The organizers of the conference are the international educational centers of Minsk, Dortmund and Kiev. More than 200 representatives of public organizations from Belarus, Germany, Ukraine, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland and other countries of Europe that carry out projects in social and humanitarian spheres are planning to take part in the event.

Moreover, the programme of the visit includes a series of bilateral meetings where the prospects of the Belarusian-German cooperation in different spheres are going to be discussed.

For information: Germany takes one of the leading positions among international trade partners in what concerns volume of trade.

In 2011 the volume of trade with Germany increased by 54% if compared to 2012 and amounted to 4382.4 billion USD. At the same time exports grew 4 times and amounted to 1826.3 billion USD, imports grew by 7.2 % and amounted to 2556.2 billion USD. The balance of trade was negative in the amount of 729.9 billion USD.

For eight months of the current year the volume of trade with FRG decreased by 3.4% if compared to the same period in 2011 and amounted to 2745 billion USD. Exports decreased by 4.8 % to 1163.6 billion USD, imports by 2.3% to 1581.3 billion dollars. The balance of trade is negative in the amount of 417.7 billion USD.

In January – June 2012 German investments into Belarusian economy made 85 billion dollars, including direct investments on net basis in the amount of 25.2 billion USD.

There are 361 enterprises with the participation of German capital registered in Belarus and 90 representative offices of German firms.

There are 6 offices of the Belarusian business entities on the territory of Germany.
