On the Participation of Belarus’ Delegation in the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

On May 10 – 11, 2013 the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development took place in Istanbul.

Belarus delegation was headed by Mr.Nikolai Snopkov, Minister of Economy of Belarus. The delegation included Mr.Sergei Aleinik, Ambassador of Belarus to Great Britain, Mr.Valery Kolesnik, Ambassador of Belarus to Turkey, the representatives of the National Bank, Ministry of Economy, banking institutions of Belarus.

Mr.Nikolai Snopkov held meetings with Mr.Suma Chakrabarti, EBRD President. During the negotiations the parties discussed current issues of cooperation and the implementation of the new three-year EBRD strategy for Belarus, outlined the priorities of further cooperation in different economic sectores.

Belarus’ delegation took part in the official events of the meeting and held a number of bilateral meeting with the EBRD managers, the representatives of the World Bank, Nordic Investment Bank and other international financial organizations.

During the annual meeting of the Board of Governors Mr.Nikolai Snopkov, Minister of Economy, Mr.Kirill Koroteev, First Deputy Director General of the Belarus-China Industrial Park, Francis Delay, representative of the EBRD in Belarus addressed the participants presenting information on economic and investment opportunities in Belarus.
