On the Session of the National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO

On December 2, 2013 the session of the reshaped National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The National Commission is chaired by Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei. It includes heads of state administration bodies, educational and cultural institutions of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of non-governmental organizations.

During the session of the National Commission, the participants made a decision to set up topical committees on the major UNESCO activities, which should facilitate more efficient cooperation with the Organization. A Plan of action for 2014 was considered.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the issue of holding a range of events in the coming year, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Belarus’s membership in UNESCO.
