On the Second Round of the Belarus-EU Dialogue on Economic and Financial Issues

On November 21, 2012 the second round of Belarus-EU dialogue on economic and financial issues will take place in Brussels.


Belarus delegation will be headed by Mr.Dmitry Golyhov, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs. The delegation will include Mr.Maksim Ermolovich, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr.Andrei Evdochenko, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the EU, experts of MFA, MEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs), National Bank, Mission of Belarus to EU.


The EU will be represented by members of the European Commission Directorate General on economic and financial issues, Directorate General on development assistance and the European External Action Service.


The parties will discuss macroeconomic situation in Belarus, its fiscal policy and national debt. The sides will also consider the consequences of the Eurozone financial crisis and measures taken by EU Member States to overcome it. Moreover, the issues of the development of monetary policy  and banking systems of Belarus and EU will be discussed.


The Belarusian side will report on privatization and economic liberalization in Belarus, and Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.


The first round of the negotiations took place on October 6, 2011 in Minsk.
