On the Session of the CIS Economic Council

On June 18, 2013 58th session of the CIS Economic Council took place in Moscow. During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues relating to the integration interaction within the CIS.

The Belarusian delegation headed by Mr.Anatoly Kalinin, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, took part in the session.

The agenda included 19 issues covering various areas of economic cooperation in the CIS. The participants of the meeting analyzed the first results of the Treaty on Free Trade Zone implementation. In addition, the parties considered the progress in carrying out the activities for 2012-2014 in the implementation of the intergovernmental program of innovation cooperation up to 2020, as well as intergovernmental radio navigation program.

The sides discussed a number of draft documents, in particular, the concept of cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources, an agreement on the consolidated financial statements of national economic entities of the Commonwealth, the concept of the formation and development of the intergovernmental system of training and retraining of personnel in the field of scientific and technical information.

The parties considered a number of issues of cooperation in fiscal and social spheres, collective security ensuring.
The exchange of views on the work of small and medium-sized enterprises in the CIS countries, on the business climate, the benefits for investors, the functioning of free economic zones, industrial, scientific and technological parks in the Commonwealth took place.

The participants of the meeting were informed on the results of the regional monitoring of the CIS infocommunicational development.

During his visit to Moscow Mr.Anatoly Kalinin held a number of meetings.

During the meeting with Mr.Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation, the parties discussed the issues of cooperation in the construction industry, including the participation of Belarus’ organizations in Russian housing programs, as well as the preparations of the infrastructure for the World Cup that will be held in Russia in 2018.

During the meeting with the Mr.Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister, the sides discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of integration of building systems of Belarus and Russia, and joint activities in the Customs Union.
