On the Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei to Cambodia

On March 28, 2014 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei finished his official visit to Cambodia.

Mr.Vladimir Makei met with the Prime-Minister of Cambodia Mr.Hun Sen. During the meeting the parties discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade and economic sphere, schedule for high level visits.

The parties discussed the preliminary program of the Cambodian Prime-Minister’s visit to Belarus planned for April 23 – 25, 2014. Mr.Vladimir Makei marked the importance of practical results of the visit, that include the coordination of projects in the sphere of industrial cooperation, trade, science and education.

Mr.Hun Sen confirmed the readiness of the Cambodian party to actively develop trade and economic relations with Belarus. The Head of the Government highly assessed the work on the creation of enterprises assembling Belarusian tractors in Cambodia, as well as assured support of joint projects with Belarus.

The Delegation of Belarusian business circles signed contracts with Cambodian partners for the delivery of 400 tractors, tractor units and pilot batch of Belarusian tire production to Cambodia. Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus Mr.Gennady Svidersky and Director General of Minsk Tractor Works Mr.Vladimir Volchok took part in the signing ceremony.

On March 28 Mr.Vladimir Makei held meetings with the leadership of the Siem Reap province. During the meeting the sides considered interregional Belarus-Cambodia cooperation, development of interaction in the sphere of trade, education, culture and tourism.
