On the Visit of the Ambassador of Belarus Mr.Andrei Savinykh to Iraq

On April 14 – 18, 2014 Ambassador of Belarus to Turkey and Iraq (concurrently) Mr.Andrei Savinykh is on a visit to Bagdad.

On April 14 Ambassador of Belarus met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Mr.Hoshyar Zebari.

During the meeting the parties discussed Belarus-Iraq cooperation, as well as the events aimed at the development of bilateral interaction in the spheres of mutual interest. The sides considered the prospects of the participation of Belarusian companies in the rehabilitation of the Iraqi economy.

Mr.Andrei Savinykh marked the interest of the Belarusian side in the intensification of bilateral contacts and proposed holding the events aimed at maintaining ongoing dialogue and more intensive exchange of information between state agencies of the two countries.

The program of the visit of the Ambassador of Belarus to Bagdad includes meetings with Vice-President of Iraq Mr.Khodair al-Khozaei, leadership of the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Trade, Agriculture, Energy, Construction, Water Resources. Mr.Andrei Savinykh will also have meetings with the managers of a number of state corporations, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Iraq, representatives of the diplomatic corps.
