On the Meeting of Mr.Pavel Latushko, Ambassador of Belarus, with Secretary General of the Council of Europe

On May 29, 2013 Mr.Pavel Latushko, Ambassador of Belarus to France, met with Mr.Thorbjorn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg.

During the meeting the parties discussed the state and prospects of Belarus-COE relations and the realization of a number of joint projects.

The sides considered the issues of Belarus’ participation in the agreements and COE mechanisms of cooperation. The parties marked mutual interest in Belarus accession to the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings and Criminal Law Convention on Corruption.

Mr.Pavel Latushko informed Mr.Thorbjorn Jagland on the internal procedures on the accession to the abovementioned international statutes. The Belarusian representative also marked that Belarus is interested in signing a number of agreements of the Council of Europe.

 Mr.Pavel Latushko and Mr.Thorbjorn Jagland specified the importance of Belarus-COE dialogue development.
