Belarus attends UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board session

On June 25–29, 2012 in Geneva Belarus took part in the annual session of the Executive Board of the UN Development Program/ United Nations Population Fund/ United Nations Office for Project Services (UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS).

The Belarusian delegation was led by head of Directorate for Multilateral Diplomacy of the MFA of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Ambrazevich.
 
The session focused on the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS activities in 2011, defined the main areas of work in the near future and adopted a number of country programs for Moldova, Malaysia, India, Guinea, Lesotho, Mauritania, Jordan, Syria and other countries.
 
Note: In October 2010 UNDP approved and implemented a framework program for Belarus in 2011-2015. It is the first joint strategy of the UN agencies operating in Belarus and prepared in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Belarus. The program supports the country’s national priorities and promotes fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals.
 
The program consists of five cooperation areas: assistance for stable social and economic development; strengthening of the national health system; ecological stabilization; development of National System of Migration Management in accordance with international standards; development of state management.
