Belarus-Czech Joint Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation to Meet in Minsk

On May 3-4 Minsk will host the 4th meeting of the Belarus-Czech Joint Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, created within the framework of the intergovernmental Agreement on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical cooperation, signed on January 22, 2009.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandr Guryanov chairs the Belarusian part of the Commission; the Czech part is headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Milan Hovorka.

The Czech delegation includes Deputy Minister of Agriculture Martin Hlaváček, Deputy Minister of Transport Ivo Vykydal, heads of various organizations and banks that take an active part in financing projects on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, as well as representatives of Czech companies ("Škoda Transportation", “AŽD Praha”, “Bel-Czech Trade”, “SIGMA GROUP”, “Bauer Technics”, etc.).

The Czech delegation is expected to have talks with the top officials of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.

A solemn ceremony of laying the first stone of the new swine-breeding farm will take place during the visit, an investment project of the Czech company “Bauer Technics” for OAO “Svinokompleks Borisovski” (“Borisov Swine-Breeding, Ltd.”). Construction of the “Shchitomirichi”   transport and logistics center (Minsk Oblast) by the Czech company ''Metrostav'' will also be launched during this visit. 

The agenda includes the meetings of the working groups on cooperation in the area of transports, scientific, technical and innovation spheres, the talks on the most important issues of the bilateral cooperation.
