On the Visit of Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, to Serbia

On July 5, the closing day of the official visit of Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, to Serbia, the Minister held negotiations with Mr.Aleksandr Vuchich, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Defense of Serbia.

During the meeting the parties marked positive dynamics of bilateral economic cooperation. The sides discussed several significant bilateral and multilateral projects and agreed on their further development. Mr.Vladimir Makei presented to the counterpart a letter from Mr.Mikhail Myasnikovich, Prime Minister of Belarus, inviting Mr.Vuchich to visit Belarus. Aleksandr Vuchich accepted the invitation.

The Minister also visited the city of Novi Sad, where he opened the first Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Serbia. Mr.Vladimir Makei wished the newly appointed Honorary Consul Mr.Dragolyub Shvonya success in widening Belarus-Serbia bilateral relations and expressed hope for the development of Belarus economic presence in the Autonomous province of Voyvodina.

On the initiative of the Government of Voyvodina the Minister met with Mr.Boyan Paytich, Prime Minister of the Autonomous province. At the meeting the parties discussed the ways of further development of cooperation between Gomel region and Voyvodina, in particular by including Belarusian tractors assembled in Novi Sad into the Voyvodian programs supporting agriculture.

Mr.Vladimir Makei also met with Mr.Milosh Vuchevich, Mayor of Novi Sad which is a twin-city of Gomel in Belarus.
Later on the same day the Head of Belarusian Ministry visited the factory assembling Belarusian tractors and held meetings with Serbian businessmen.
