On the meeting of Heads of the Missions of the UNECE Member-States with the UN General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon

On October, 18, within the 44th Meeting of the UNECE Executive Committee Geneva hosted the meeting of the Heads of the Missions of the UNECE Member-States with the UN General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon.

During the meeting the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Office Mikhail Khvostov pointed out that on the background of persisting crisis in the world economy and the inequality in economic development of the countries the importance of cooperation within the UNECE is objectively growing. According to M. Khvostov the UNECE is capable of making a significant contribution to the harmonization process of economic integration in the European region.

Speaking about the future directions of the UNECE work, the Permanent Representative of Belarus supported further development of the “Sustainable Energy for All” initiative, proclaimed by Ban Ki-Moon, within the UNECE as well.
