Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Visits Hungary

On August 28-30, 2012, delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus visits Hungary. The delegation is headed by the Deputy Minister, head of the Belarusian side of the Intergovernmental Belarus-Hungary commission on economic cooperation, Alena Kupchyna.

The program of the visit includes meetings with the Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Economy of Hungary, the head of the Hungarian side of the Commission Róza Nagy, as well as with the heads of the major Hungarian economic institutions – Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency, Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Eximbank of MEHIB agency.

Issues related to economic and investment relations between the two states will be discussed during the meetings, including the preparation of the next session of the Intergovernmental Belarus-Hungary commission on economic cooperation, scheduled for the fall of 2012.

Note: In 2011 the foreign trade between Belarus and Hungary reached US$221.7 million increasing by 1.2 percent compared to 2010. Belarusian exports were at US$79.7 million (16.6 percent growth), imports were US$142 million (decrease by 5.8 percent).

In January-June 2012 the foreign trade between Belarus and Hungary made US$109.3 million (108.1 percent to the same period of 2011), exports were at US$43.9 million (127.7 percent), imports – at US$65.4 million (98 percent).
