On the Session of the Belarusian-Czech Working Group on Cooperation in the Sphere of Agriculture and Food

On March 30 – 31, 2014 the 5th session of the Belarusian-Czech working group on cooperation in the sphere of agriculture and food took place in Brno. This group was created within the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Czech Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.

On March 30, 2014 the Belarusian delegation took part in round-table discussion “Customs Union – The Czech Republic (cooperation in agroindustrial sphere)”. The Parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation development in such spheres as veterinary science, animals breeding, meat and dairy industry, seed-farming and fitosanitary situation, food, fish-breeding and plant cultivation, quality testing, as well as the progress of agreements implementation included into the Protocol of the 4th session of the Belarusian-Czech working group on cooperation in the spheres of agriculture and food.

The Parties paid special attention to the issues of joint Belarusian-Czech projects in the agricultural sphere. The Parties positively evaluated the Belarusian-Czech interaction in the sphere of agricultural science and cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

The Czech Party received a set of documents on investment projects in the Republic of Belarus.

Following the results of the session, Belarusian State Agricultural Academy (Gorki) and South-Czech University (Ceske Budejovice) signed the Cooperation Agreement.
