Hamburg Hosted Days of Belarusian Economy

On June 6, 2012 the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce hosted the Days of Belarusian Economy. The awareness-raising event for the business circles of the region was dedicated to the possibilities and prospects of cooperation with our country. The event was organized by the Embassy of Belarus in Germany, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the Association for Cooperation with Central and Eastern Europe countries, and Honorary Consul of Belarus in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein Rene M.Schroder.

Some 30 companies took part in the Day of the Belarusian Economy, representing commerce, banking, consulting, transportation, logistics, and the manufacturing sector of the German economy and interested in expanding cooperation with the Republic of Belarus.

Address of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Federal Republic of Germany Andrei Giro became one of the key elements of the event.

The Ambassador presented to the German audience the information on the current trends in the development of the national economy, advantages of Belarus from the business development and investments point of view, the processes of liberalization and details on the ongoing provatization program. A.Giro also had a number of meetings with the business persons.

Antonina Yezhova, head of the Administration of the Free Economic Zone Gomel-Raton made a presentation highlighting the details of the Free Economic Zones functioning in Belarus, and advantages they offer for businesses. Specific investment projects were presented to the German audience.
