Meeting on the UNICEF Country Programme

On 23 January, Belarus Foreign Ministry hosted a high-profile meeting to discuss the outcome of the UNICEF Country Programme in 2009 and how the co-operation between Belarus and UNICEF could further unfold, including the framework of the new Country Programme for Belarus for 2011–2015.

The meeting saw participation of a number of ministries and state agencies, National Assembly, international organisations, Belarusian NGOs co-operating with the UNICEF.

The discussions focused on the projects to help deliver our national priorities and the Government’s efforts in a number of areas, including child and maternity protection, social protection of families, child rights, HIV/AIDS prevention, fighting against human trafficking, especially women and children.

The meeting ended up in formulating key priorities of co-operation that could be met in 2010 and within the framework of the new Country Programme for 2011–2015.
