Inward investments in 2009

In 2009, Belarus attracted over $9 billion of foreign investments, with a 1.4 fold increase against 2008, including $4.8 billion of FDI, $1.9 million of portfolio investments, and $4.4 billion of other types of investments.

The share of CIS countries in all inward investments totaled 65.4 per cent, with Russia making up 65.3 per cent.

The non CIS countries share amounted to 34.6 per cent of all inward investments.

The major investing countries are Russia, Switzerland, Austria, UK, Cyprus.
