Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the Apostolic Nuncio

On September 9, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met with the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Belarus, archbishop Ante Jozić.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, humanitarian cooperation, as well as interaction of the two states within international organizations.
V.Makei confirmed a traditional commitment to further developing a constructive cooperation with the Vatican. The Minister emphasized the inviolability of the official approaches towards the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, the inadmissibility of inciting religious intolerance and the importance of preserving ethno-confessional harmony in the country in general. In this context, one should not attach any importance to individual, exclusively subjective attempts to present the situation differently.
The interlocutors agreed to continue to maintain a sincere and transparent dialogue on all issues related to the intensification of the Belarusian-Vatican cooperation and the strengthening of interfaith harmony.
