On the Working Visit of Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, to Poland

On August 28-29, 2014 Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, paid a working visit to the Republic of Poland.



Within the framework of the visit on August 28 Mr.Vladimir Makei held a meeting with Mr.Radosław Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The current situation in the region and a number of issues on bilateral agenda were discussed.



The heads of Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Poland focused on the necessity of resolving the crisis in Ukraine, agreed to continue contacts and organize a separate meeting dedicated to the topics of bilateral relations.

On the same day, Mr.Vladimir Makei held talks with Mr.Janusz Piechociński, Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland, Ms.Katarzyna Kacperczyk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr.Andrzej Dycha, Deputy Minister of Economy. The participants exchanged views on the state and prospects of bilateral trade and investment cooperation, as well as discussed the preparation of the meeting of the joint Belarusian-Polish Commission on economic cooperation, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014 in Warsaw.

On August 29, 2014 the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry held meetings with the representatives of the Polish business community. During the talks the possibility of implementing joint investment projects including in the field of industrial cooperation was examined.
