Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Y.Ambrazevich takes part in the Eurasian Economic Forum
26 May 2022
On May 26, 2022 the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Ambrazevich, took part online in the Eurasian Economic Forum, held in Bishkek.
Y.Ambrazevich spoke at the panel discussion "Interaction Between the EAEU and Promising International Partners: Mutually Beneficial Cooperation in the Greater".
In his speech, the Deputy Minister noted the strategic interest of Belarus in the formation of a multipolar world order instead of the current one-vector globalization. The latter preserves the dominance of the collective West on a planetary scale, thus predetermining the impossibility of avoiding inequality in the development opportunities of countries of the "golden billion" and the developing world and, accordingly, completely overcoming the gap in development levels.
The concept of macro-regions or a multipolar world, as opposed to globalization, is designed to more effectively solve the problem of a fair distribution of resources and incomes among countries and ensure the inclusive involvement of all people without exception in effective development.
Y.Ambrazevich named the main qualities that will allow macro-regions to become an effective alternative to current globalization: orientation towards self-sufficiency and higher resilience of the economy to external shocks, effective manageability on the basis of strong states and their social orientation, synergistic effect from complementarity, primarily in industrial cooperation.
The Deputy Minister stressed that the EAEU has every chance of becoming one of the macro-regions, provided that members are united in responding to external shocks and in understanding the importance of creating full-fledged regional production chains.
Y.Ambrazevich expressed the opinion that interaction within the framework of BRICS could become a prototype of the mechanisms of "integration of integrations" – interaction between macro-regions based on the equality of players and the resulting principle of non-interference in internal affairs, and also called on the EAEU to continue to lead the UN in promoting the topic "integration of integrations".
