Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus S.Aleinik meets the UN Resident Coordinator

On May 23, 2023 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus, Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki, on the occasion of the completion of her mission in the Republic of Belarus. 

S.Aleinik thanked J.Kazana-Wisniowiecki for her active work as the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus and wished further success in her professional activities, as well as expressed hope for the continuation of the positive achievements of the UN Country Team in Belarus. 

During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of interaction of Belarus with the United Nations and the UN main agencies and funds, primarily in the field of implementation of joint projects and programs related to sustainable development. The parties exchanged views on the results and prospects for the activities of the UN Office in the Republic of Belarus. 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated Belarus’ firm intention to continue to follow the dynamics of implementation of the 2030 Agenda by the target date, despite a number of negative trends in the multilateral agenda that threaten the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by the states, including the policy of sanctions and unilateral coercive measures.
