On the Regional Ministerial Conference in Geneva

The Regional Ministerial Conference “Monitoring and Accountability for the Post-2015 Development Agenda — The Regional Dimension” took place from 15 to 16 September 2014 in Geneva.

The Conference was organized jointly by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Regional United Nations Development Group for Europe and Central Asia.

The Republic of Belarus was represented by the delegation, composed of the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Mission.

The event addressed the role of the regional level in the overall monitoring and accountability framework for the Post-2015 development agenda and the linkages with the global and national mechanisms within a multi-layered architecture.

Furthermore, the delegates discussed the best practices in the field of national reporting mechanisms, as well as the private sector's role in monitoring systems.

Belarusian delegation took part in the deliberations in the discussion panels on approaches to the subject and methods of regional reviews, the scope of a regional mechanism for accountability, as well as improving the existing monitoring mechanisms.
