Ambassador of Belarus A.Metelitsa presents Credentials to the President of Pakistan

On January 19, 2021 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Andrei Metelitsa, presented his Credentials to the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi.

During the meeting, that took place after the ceremony, the Sides discussed the intensification of political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan.

The need to strengthen cooperation in such important areas for both countries as industry, agriculture and pharmaceuticals was emphasized. It was noted in a positive way that, despite the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, joint events in science, technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals were held in 2020.

The interlocutors also discussed events planned in 2021 including the sixth Session of the Joint Belarusian-Pakistani Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the fifth round of political consultations at the level of the Deputy Heads of the Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Pakistan, sessions of expert working groups on industry and agriculture.

The Ambassador of Belarus confirmed the invitations for the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, and to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of Pakistan, Asad Qaiser, to visit the Republic of Belarus.
