On the Press Conference for Media on the Occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons
29 July 2014On July 29, 2014 the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia and the Embassy of Belarus in Serbia organized in Belgrade a press conference for media on the occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
Within the press conference Chargé d'Affaires of Belarus in Serbia Mr.Andrei Metelitsa, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia Mr.Alexander Nikolic, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia Ms.Irena Voyachkova — Solorano, the Head of Office of the International Organisation for Migration in Serbia Ms.Lidija Markovic and the Director of the Center for the Protection of Victims of Trafficking Ms.Sanya Klyaich made their speeches.
The representative of Belarus informed about the efforts and international initiatives of Belarus in the fight against human trafficking.
The participants discussed the situation with human trafficking in Serbia and the measures taken to combat this crime and protect its victims.
The UN representative in Serbia thanked Belarus for its contribution to the coordination of international efforts to combat this crime.
