On the Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei in the Session of the UN General Assembly

On September 29, 2014 Mr.Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, had several bilateral meetings during his stay in New York to participate in the 69^th session of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mr.Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu the sides confirmed their readiness to continue political dialog, to implement concrete projects in various fields.

The course of bilateral relations was discussed with the head of the foreign ministry of Nicaragua. In particular the parties took stock of what has been done and what needs to be done with the view to implementing the agreements reached during Minister Makei’s visit to Nicaragua in June 2014.

During the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria the questions of bilateral relations were discussed as well as cooperation in the international organizations. The parties exchanged views on the situation in Syria and the region, expressed their will to counter the spread of terrorism both in the Middle Еast as well as beyond.

Mr.Vladimir Makei also discussed with deputy foreign ministers of Ecuador, Laos and Kazakhstan the perspectives of relations of Belarus with these countries.
