Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov pays an official visit to Kazakhstan (Day 2)

On April 15, 2026, on the second day of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, visited Almaty, where he took part in the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus. The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermukhambet Konuspayev, as well as Belarusian and foreign diplomats accredited in Almaty.

The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry noted that the opening of a permanent office of the Belarusian Consulate General in Almaty is an important step in expanding our diplomatic presence in Central Asia. The work of the mission will give a new impetus to the development of cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan.

As part of the delegation's visit to Almaty, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, together with the regional branch of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs 'Atameken', organised the Exchange Forum. More than 50 representatives of Kazakhstani businesses took part in its work. Speaking at the opening of the forum, M.Ryzhenkov called for using the unique opportunities of the Belarusian exchange platform to develop mutually beneficial trade and economic ties. During the forum, a number of commercial contracts for the supply of food products from Belarus to Kazakhstan were signed.

Furthermore, as a continuation of ongoing efforts to develop trade and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan and promote domestic goods, M.Ryzhenkov took part in the opening of a new store of the chain 'Belarusian Produkts No. 1' and visited the trading house 'Belarus Agrotechnika'.

During the visit to Almaty, the Minister, together with the city's Akim, laid flowers at the Memorial of Glory in the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park and visited the Museum of Military Glory. The sides noted the importance of preserving the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

The outcomes of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus to Kazakhstan will serve to further strengthen friendly Belarusian-Kazakhstani relations and develop mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of common interest.
