On November 30, 2022 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov, visited the Embassy of Belarus in Russia and left an entry in the book of condolences opened in connection with the untimely death of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei.

In a commentary for the media, Sergei Lavrov called Vladimir Makei «an outstanding diplomat, statesman, a true patriot of his country, his homeland, a great, sincere friend of our country».

«Of course, what we will continue to do to strengthen the Union State, the CSTO, the EAEU, the CIS, we will now do with redoubled energy in memory of our friend, who really wanted to achieve concrete results in all these areas», said Russian Foreign Minister to journalists.
