Belarusian citizens return from the State of Qatar

A special Belavia flight is currently en route from Doha to Minsk with Belarusian tourists on board.

In light of current air travel restrictions, the Belarusian side held intensive negotiations with the competent authorities of the State of Qatar.

The joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the Embassy of Belarus in the State of Qatar, and Belavia resulted in obtaining permission for the national carrier to operate the flight.

Belavia is the first foreign airline to be granted such an opportunity by the Qatari side to repatriate tourists.

Hamad International Airport was temporarily opened to receive the Belarusian aircraft, with all necessary services deployed, including additional security measures.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its gratitude to the competent authorities of the State of Qatar – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Civil Aviation Authority, and other agencies – for their assistance and joint work in organizing the departure of Belarusian citizens.

The flight is expected to arrive in Minsk shortly.
