Online conference of the Ambassador of Belarus to Kenya P.Vzyatkin with the Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Program

April 13th, 2021, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kenya, Permanent Representative to the UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) Pavel Vziatkin held an online meeting with Executive-Director of UN-Habitat Maimunah Mohd Sharif.
The Permanent Representative stressed the important role of the UN-Habitat in integtrating green technologies in urban infrastructure and achieving Sustainable Development Goals. P.Vzyatkin informed that at the moment the Republic of Belarus has launched a number of projects to create "smart cities" and counts on the support of UN-Habitat in its successful implementation.
In turn, Executive Director Sharif noted that the creation of "smart cities" is one of the priorities of UN-Habitat and expressed the readiness to provide the necessary assistance in implementation of joint plans appointing responsible UN-Habitat officers.
M.Sharif invited the Belarusian side to take part in the World Urban Forum 2022.
