Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation

On April 20, 2021 during a working visit to Switzerland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met the Vice President of the Federal Council, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and prospects for development of bilateral relations, including the implementation of the agreements following the visit of I.Cassis to the Republic of Belarus in February 2020.

I.Cassis informed about the approaches of the Swiss side to the events in Belarus, outlined the problem of the well-known citizen  N.Hershe

V.Makei familiarized the interlocutor in detail with the logic behind the actions of the Belarusian authorities during last year's events, informed about the ongoing wide public dialogue and the work on the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

The parties exchanged views on the fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and regional security issues.

The sides confirmed their interest in maintaining a constructive dialogue at different levels, fast resolution of problematic issues and the resumption of positive dynamics of development of Belarusian-Swiss relations.
