Foreign Minister V.Makei participates in the Ministerial Meeting of Non-Aligned Movement

On July 13, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, took part in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Non – Aligned Movement, organized under the Chairmanship of Azerbaijan in a video format on the topic "The Non-Aligned Movement at the center of multilateral efforts in response to global challenges".

In his statement, the Belarusian Foreign Minister noted that the Non-Aligned Movement, which unites the majority of UN member states, plays an important role on the international arena in building a more just, secure and sustainable world.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the Non-Aligned Movement has the necessary potential to develop joint measures in response to the global challenges of the modern era, which include unilateral coercive measures against sovereign countries.

V.Makei welcomed the efforts of the Movement's participating states aimed at eradication of illegal unilateral political and economic sanctions against sovereign states and called for the need to intensify joint counteraction to such destructive actions that violate international law and hinder the sustainable development of states.

During the event, a political declaration of the Non– Aligned Movement Member States was adopted.
