On Exhibition of Alexander Shilov in Minsk

On March 29 president of Belarus visited an exhibition of a People’s Artist of the USSR, academician of the Russian art academy Alexander Shilov, which is held in the national art museum of Belarus. In 1999 Alexander Lukashenko visited the Moscow state picture gallery of the artist, whose collection includes more than 700 works and expressed readiness to receive his exhibition in the Belarusian capital.

The personal exhibition of Alexander Shilov is held in Belarus for the first time. On March 29 – May 3 twenty five pictorial works and 21 reproductions of the artist’s pictures as well as 29 photos of the artist with famous political figures and art masters will be presented in the national art museum of Belarus. In 2003 USSR People’s Artist Alexander Shilov was awarded with an Order of Frantsysk Skaryna for his big personal contribution to strengthening the Belarusian-Russian cultural links.

The highest painting level, intensity of psychological emotions and wide creative forces helped the artist to create a diverse picture of the spiritual life of the modern Russia. The exposition presents people’s characters, portraits of representatives of the creative intelligentsia, clergymen and women, landscapes and still life.
