On the Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia

On July 29, 2014 the consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia were held in Minsk at level of the Head of the General Directorate for Multilateral Diplomacy of the MFA of Belarus Mr.Yury Ambrazevich and the Ambassador-at-large, Deputy Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the BRICS Mr.Vadim Lukov.

The Russian delegation was received by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Mr.Valentin Rybakov.

During the consultations, the Belarusian side was informed about the dynamics of the development of the BRICS — the group that combines fast-growing economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, the main outcomes of the Sixth BRICS Summit, held in Brazil on 15-16 July 2014, as well as the Group’s plans for future.

The sides discussed issues of further cooperation in the context of Russia's forthcoming presidency in the BRICS in years 2015-2016.
