Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Y.Ambrazevich takes part in the commemorative event on the occasion of the 36th Anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster

On April 26, 2022 on the International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day, proclaimed by the United Nations at the initiative of Belarus, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Ambrazevich, took part in the commemorative event on the occasion of the 36th Anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. 

The Deputy Head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry together with representatives of other republican government bodies, public associations laid flowers at memorials "To Victims of Chernobyl" and "Hiroshima Peace Memorial" in the park of Friendship of Peoples in Minsk, paying tribute to the memory of heroism and self-sacrifice of liquidators of the disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

Restoration of contaminated territories, sustainable development of the economic and human potentials of the affected regions is still an urgent task of the Government of Belarus. 

The thematic meeting of the Council for Sustainable Development, held by the Ministry on April 21, 2022 and dedicated to the possibilities of improving the work of the state in the development of the affected regions through the involvement of UN agencies, programmes and funds, contributed to the solution of this tasks.
